Coach Gonzales has been coaching basketball for 15 years, entering his second season as the Head Basketball Coach for the War Eagles.  In his first season leading Oak Ridge on the hardwood, the War Eagles went 15-16 overall, 8-8 in district (most district wins in over 20 years).

Garrick earned a B.S. degree in Kinesiology and Health Education and a Master’s in Education- Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas-Austin.  His professional coaching career has made stops at St. Andrew’s Episcopal (Austin), St. Stephen’s Episcopal (Austin),  Alamo Heights (San Antonio), Austin Travis, and Austin Westlake.  As an assistant, he has honors and experience that include 7 district championships, 1 state semifinalist honor, 1 state finalist honor, and an overall record of 242-70 (20-8 in playoffs).

In his leisure time, Garrick enjoys being active outdoors and spending time with friends and family, including his younger sibling, Samantha and his mother, Evangeline.
